Educational Programs

5-Year Old Class:
This academically oriented program develops skills and attitudes children need in the study of the academic disciplines.  A variety of experiences develop eye/hand/body coordination, and reading readiness. The program introduces Reading, Mathematics, Oral and Written Language skills, Science, and Cultural Studies.  There is a continued emphasis on personal development through exposure to varied classes of Music, Computers, Art, and Physical Education.

6-11 Year Old Classes:
Elementary School students take a full program of Mathematics, Reading and Language Arts, Science, Culture Studies, Art, Music, Physical Education, and Drama.  Computer usage is integrated with the curriculum at all levels.  Arabic for non-Arabic speakers is a part of the regular program.  Arabic is offered to Arabic students from age 7 in preparation for national examinations.  Activities are available to students two afternoons per week.



School Days - Hours
Classes are Saturday through Wednesday.

12-13 year old classes - 7:55 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  (Activities on Sunday through Wednesday till 4:30 p.m.)

6-11 year old classes – 7:55 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (Activities on Sunday and Tuesday till 3:00 p.m.)

5 year old class – 7:55 a.m. – 12:00 noon.

Safety-Net Opportunity
6-11 year olds may take advantage of one period (1:30-2:15) on Sundays and Tuesdays to receive extra help from teachers, if not enrolled in a special class.
12-13 year old students may take advantage between 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday by appointment for extra help and/or make-up work.

Testing
Students take the IOWA test of basic skills each year as an independent test of their academic performance compared to students in the USA.

12-13 Year Old Classes:
This program meets the special needs of students in the 12 -13 year old classes.  Students take a rigorous academic program of Mathematics, Reading and Language Arts, Science, Cultural Studies, Art, Music, Physical Education.  French or Arabic is offered as a Foreign Language.  Computer Applications is offered as an elective course.  Qualified students may enroll in secondary classes for high school graduation credit if appropriate.
