Advisory Board
SIS has an Advisory Board. The Advisory Board consists of six to ten members. These are people who reflect the makeup of the school community and who are resident in Sanaa. The members meet no less than four times each school year. Advisory Board members usually serve for a two year term although members may be appointed for additional two year terms. The Director of SIS is a member and is the Chairman of the Advisory Board.
Objectives and Activities of the Advisory Board include the following:
* Giving advise and assistance to the school Director concerning the school's relations with the host government.
* Reviewing the annual budget.
* Periodically reviewing expenditures during the school year.
* Being responsible for the scholarship policy, including revisions and implementation.
* Helping to maintain a positive image of the school in the community.
* Communicating ideas and concerns of parents and the community to the school Director.
* Being actively involved in the Advisory Board approved fund raising efforts. |
